Did you know that a Circular Economy Cluster was just born in Aragón…and we helped make it happen?
We’re over the moon to announce that CIRCLEAR, what we are calling the cluster, was just launched, bringing together more than 30 companies (the majority of which are also REDOL partners), research centres, and public sector organisations. Its mission? To make the region of Aragón a true benchmark of circularity in Europe.
Adopting a circular economy model boosts competitiveness, encourages innovation, creates new business opportunities, and helps to protect the environment. CIRCLEAR’s founding members believe that by joining forces, companies and institutions can build a more resilient, efficient, and sustainable regional economy.
And the best part is – REDOL played a key role in shaping the cluster. Through several sessions organised by ICLEI Europe, Universidad de Zaragoza, and CIRCE – Centro Tecnológico, we helped define the strategy and create the framework for what is now CIRCLEAR.
CIRCLEAR has a clear mandate:
- to foster collaboration among companies, research centres, and public institutions
- to promote innovation in circular processes, products, and business models
- to support training and transparency
- to improve the region’s environmental, social, and economic performance
