Stronger together: we are thrilled to announce that we have recently joined the Circular Construction Cluster, founded by the RECONMATIC project. The cluster aims to nurture collaboration among projects, academia and industry players, specifically in the area of construction and demolition waste management.
The cluster works to increase the impact of its members’ work and results and facilitate knowledge exchange on circularity in construction. The overarching goal is to promote circularity not only through the development of new technologies (AI, robotics, automation, digital twins etc.), but also through new collaboration frameworks, regulation recommendations, and recycled and reused construction materials manufacturing.
Our shared vision? To promote tangible circular solutions for the construction sector, which provides 18 million direct jobs, contributes to about 9% of the EU’s GDP, drives economic growth, provides solutions for social, climate, and energy challenges, and accounts for more than a third of all waste generated in the EU.
Follow the hashtag #CircularConstructionCluster and subscribe to the RECONMATIC Newsletter to be updated about the project’s and cluster’s latest activities and news.
In the Cluster, REDOL is working alongside…

RECONMATIC – Automated Solutions For Sustainable And Circular Construction And Demolition Waste Management
RECONMATIC proposes a set of innovative tools and techniques for managing construction and demolition waste (CDW) throughout the whole life cycle of buildings and infrastructures, addressing European targets for waste and energy consumption reduction in construction.

CIRCULAR B COST ACTION – Implementation of Circular Economy in the Built Environment
The CircularB Action aims to establish an international circularity framework for inclusive application and assessment in new and existing builings. It supports decision-making for all stakeholders in the value chain and evaluates the implementation level of the European Circular Economy Action Plan (ECEAP).

RecycleBIM – Integrated Planning and Recording Circularity of Construction Materials through Digital Modelling
RecycleBIM aims to develop an integrated framework for circular construction, leveraging “Building Information Modelling” (BIM) to optimise deconstruction, recycling, and local 3D printing with demolition waste. It also creates open tools to help stakeholders adopt digitalised workflows.

CAMACOL – COLOMBIAN CHAMBER OF CONSTRUCTION in the Antioquia Region
The Colombian Chamber of Construction CAMACOL brings together about 1600 companies from the construction value chain in Colombia. CAMACOL works on a project called Circular Economy Toolbox, with the support of the Swiss embassy. The project seeks to provide tools to companies to adopt circular economy.

LATIN AMERICAN ALLIANCE FOR CIRCULAR CONSTRUCTION
CAMACOL and other allied entities from Latin American countries formed the Latin American Circular Construction Alliance. Through this alliance Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Brazil and Uruguay seek to share experiences on circular economy in the construction industry.
